Just a reminder that K9s and police dogs are not cute. They are not “uwu smol pupper bean trying their best!1!1!” They are a twisted and evil creation of white supremacy and police violence. They are abused, tortured, and trained to maul victims to death unless they are removed with brute force. They are trained to attack harder if the victim adopts a defensive (nonthreatening) strance. They are *racist*, frequently trained to be particularly violent to black folks. And the vast majority of them are abused and euthanized. Remember this the next time you see a seeminly cute picture of a German Shepherd puppy in a too-large K9 vest: that dog is going to be trained to murder and brutalize, it is going to be tortured throughout training and service, and it will be killed just as thoughtlessly as its victims when it is no longer of use.
So apparently last year the National Park Service in the US dropped an over 1200 page study of LGBTQ American History as part of their Who We Are program which includes studies on African-American history, Latino history, and Indigenous history.
Like. This is awesome. But also it feels very surreal that maybe one of the most comprehensive examinations of LGBTQ history in America (it covers sports! art! race! historical sites! health! cities!) was just casually done by the parks service.
We used it in my LGBT history class and it’s SO WONDERFUL I LOVE it PLEASE READ at least some chapters. It has photos and sources and goes into detail in footnotes when it doesn’t have time for a tangent.
Instead of making fun of people who do things at an older age that are normally done younger ( like getting their diploma or GED, learning to drive, even learning to read ) how about you:
I don’t think you can talk about makeup politically without talking about economic oppression. Women are expected to spend thousands a year on cosmetics (and other stuff likeclothing, health supplements, etc) when men aren’t. This isn’t just because of social pressure, it’s required by employers implictly or explicitly the majority of the time. Women are expected to put in an extra hour, if not more, work every day for no compensation before they even leave the house. Class society props up everything else
mother nature stepped in on this too because just the other week a tourist died climbing Uluru. leave it alone.
This is off-topic for my blog but here are three reasons why you shouldn’t climb Uluru:
it’s dangerous, people have died climbing it and many more have been injured.
it damages the rock, you can see where the trail is because of all the wear and because there’s obviously no bathrooms on top there’s a whole lot of rubbish, used toilet paper and tampons on top further ruining the environment for future generations.
THE TRADITIONAL OWNERS HAVE ASKED YOU NOT TOO. Imagine if people were climbing, shitting on and leaving used tampons on a site significant to you (a church, war memorial, a place of cultural significance i.e. the Louvre.
I will also add that there’s plenty of other stuff to do around there: a tour about the cultural significance of Uluru and the surrounding area, a walk around the rock and watching sunrise and sunset on the rock.
Also btw it’s called Uluru not Ayer’s Rock now.
Aboriginal elders in conjunction with the Australian government are taking away the rope that allows people to free climb and starting guided tours around the region telling people about the origin stories that make Uluru so sacred to them. They want your tourism! They want to share their stories! They do NOT want you to clamber over and damage their ancestors.

I will always support girls who figure out that they’re lesbians after thinking they were bisexual and girls who figure out that they’re bisexual after thinking they were lesbians. It can be really hard to determine whether what you are feeling is compulsory heterosexuality or genuine attraction, and we should always show a girl love and support when she tries to figure that out and when she does figure it out.

sexual harrassment in the food industry is so prevalent that most women (including myself!) expect it when they come to work. And mcdonald’s workers are some of the absolute most vulnerable and least appreciated.
even if you don’t eat at mcdonalds you probably have followers who do and followers who work there and would like to see you supporting them
